Respite Program
Having a child with autism or other additional needs puts increased pressure on a family. The stress of the child’s needs, coupled with the financial stresses, plays a significant role in the challenges that families face.
Our Respite Program is able to help by providing funding to give family members a break and a rest.
Families have used the funds in a variety of ways, such as to pay for appropriate childcare, private swimming lessons, for travel to specialists or to attend BC Children’s Hospital, and to attend a conference to learn more about their child’s needs. Please reach out if you think you may be eligible.
The Respite Program was funded most recently by the John Gordon Autism Foundation and the Squamish Community Foundation.
