Homeless Prevention and Outreach

Everyone should have a home

The Homeless Prevention and Outreach Program offers free services that connect individuals to housing and income assistance where appropriate, as well as making links to emergency supports and assistance such as food, shelter, medical and legal services.

Eligibility

Individuals (19+) and families who are:

  • At the risk of homelessness due to finances, “couch-surfing”, not having your name on the lease, living in transitional housing, or having a pending eviction notice.
  • Homeless due to a crisis, such as a natural disaster or living at a previous residence which has become unbearable.
  • Absolutely homeless and living in a public space without legal claim. This includes but is not limited to living in shelters or public facilities (such as hospitals or treatment centres) and those who are exploited to maintain their shelter.

This program is funded by the Province of British Columbia.
