Learn to be a Dementia Friend presentation by the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia

September 29, 2022 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Join the Better at Home program and the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia for a special program.

Learn about dementia and how small, everyday actions can help build a community that is inclusive, supportive, and safe for people living with dementia.

With over half a million Canadians living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, chances are you know someone living with dementia. As our population ages, this number will nearly double by 2030. However, we can better support those affected by dementia through understanding and knowledge. Learn to be a Dementia Friend in this presentation by the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia that will address:

  • What dementia is, common myths
  • How to recognize someone in the community who may be living with dementia and how to help.
  • Learn communication strategies
  • Know how to better support people living with dementia in their community
  • Reduce stigma, raising awareness

Please register in advance for this event with Better at Home: or call 604 567 9090. This presentation is geared towards caregivers and families as well as service providers.

If you have questions about this program, please contact Karen, our new Better at Home Administrative Assistant.

Refreshments will be provided. We hope you can take this opportunity to join us on Thursday. Look forward to seeing you!
