It’s that time of year – the days are getting shorter; routines are returning, and we’re school is back in session. It can be a time of year full of anticipation and renewal and it can also be a time of transition, anxiety, and challenge. Starting in October, Foundry Sea to Sky will begin offering walk-in services and other much needed programs in community, to help young people aged 12-24 years of age. Whether youth want to connect with a trusted peer support worker confidentially, or access counselling or support with substance use, Foundry Sea to Sky is here to help.
Here’s the thing – Sea to Sky Community Services is so excited to continue working with youth in our community. Our new Foundry Centre will have a permanent home on the main floor of the Spirit Creek Apartment building in Squamish (beside the skate park), but it’s running behind schedule with multiple delays beyond our control. It’s been a challenging time and we couldn’t do it without this amazing community, partners and the goal of serving youth in the Sea to Sky Corridor.
The new free Foundry services will launch in community (not in the Foundry building – yet!) in early October and will include:
- Walk-in and scheduled mental health and substance use support
- Programs with Indigenous Elders
- Peer Support
- Youth Outreach
- LGBTQ2S+ youth group
- Drop-in youth programming and more!
We’ll be offering these services at interim locations in Squamish. Our website FoundrySeatoSky.com will have up-to-date information on what services are available and how to access them. Going forward, these services and more will continue to be offered at our permanent location on Buckley Avenue as of February 2023.
Thanks for making us part of your team.
