Having a child with autism or other additional needs increases demands on a family. The stress of the child’s needs coupled with the financial stresses play a significant role in the challenges that families face.
Our Respite Program is able to help by providing funding to give family members some respite.
Families have used the funds in a variety of ways, such as to pay for appropriate childcare, private swimming lessons, for travel to specialists or attend BC Children’s Hospital, and to attend a conference to learn more about their child’s needs.
The Respite Program is funded by the John Gordon Autism Foundation.
