Counselling
Women’s Counselling – Stopping the Violence
The Women’s Counselling – Stopping the Violence (STV) program provides lay counselling and support for women experiencing or who have experienced sexual assault, violence in a relationship, or childhood abuse or violence resulting in being traumatized from the experience.
The STV program is delivered in a one-to-one or group counselling format. Clients may self refer or referrals are accepted from local professionals and other community service providers.
Women’s Counselling and Outreach – Stopping the Violence
An Outreach Worker provides women who may have experienced violence or abuse in their lives with support, advocacy, and accompaniment and local transportation to medical, legal, and social services in Whistler, Pemberton, and the First Nations communities north of Pemberton.
This support service is delivered in a one-to-one or group setting either in an office environment or some other location where the client feels comfortable.
The STV programs are free of charge and women must be 19 years of age or older.
